Genesis Fertilizers is proposing to finance, design and construct a new, highly efficient nitrogen fertilizer production and distribution system that serves today’s modern farmer. One central production facility constructed near low-cost raw materials serving a Western Canadian network of strategically located farmer-centric SuperCenters. Genesis Fertilizers’ is a privately held limited partnership and its securities do not trade on any exchange.

















The conceptual design phase is currently underway with our strategic partner, thyssenkrupp Uhde (who is recognized worldwide for their renowned planning, construction, and service of chemical plants).
Derek Penner is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Genesis Fertilizers, as well as a director of Genesis Fertilizers GP Inc.
A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA).
Brings over 20 years of senior financial, strategic, and operational leadership experience across Canada and international markets.
Prior to Genesis Fertilizers, held executive roles including CFO and later President & CEO of Monsanto Canada.
Served as Director of Strategy and Licensing for Monsanto’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Held the position of CEO of one of Canada’s largest natural health product manufacturers.
Currently a co-owner and partner at Catchfire, an advisory firm specializing in M&A and executive management services.
Has been a valued consultant to Genesis Fertilizers for several years.
Provides direct oversight for the company’s fertilizer plant project.
Helps drive the company’s mission to finance, design, and construct a highly efficient, farmer-focused nitrogen fertilizer production and distribution system across Western Canada.
Mark comes to Genesis Fertilizers LP with a high level of experience and knowledge within urea nitrogen plant finance.

Has over 15 years of experience in Chemical Manufacturing.
Held senior management roles within Nutrien as:
Director of Manufacturing Plant Finance in the Nitrogen division.
Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in the Nitrogen division.
Brings significant experience in the oil and gas industry.
Current Mission at Genesis
Oversight on over $1.5B of contracts to be tendered during the Front-End Engineering and Design process (FEED).
The oil and gas experience is a key asset in securing short- and long-term gas supply agreements during the operation of Genesis’s urea plant.
Terry holds a Bachelor of Administration majoring in Commerce and a diploma in Computer Science.
Managed more than 300 projects in over 20 countries.
Has extensive project management experience leading multimillion-dollar projects, including:
Two inland grain handling terminals.
Intensive livestock operations.
Fertilizer blending facilities.
Managed a region of over 100 country grain elevators and farm supply stores.
Assisted corporations and governments in building technical training centers to support national capacity building initiatives around the globe.
Working in the fertilizer industry for almost 25 years, Kathy joined the Belle Plaine nitrogen plant just weeks after start-up until her retirement as Yara Canada Vice President Asset Development in late 2019.
Has extensive background in the management of nitrogen production.
Experienced in sales of produced and imported material.
Has an in depth understanding of rail and truck transportation and represented Fertilizer Canada on the Shipper Coalition Committee convened by the Federal Government.
Managed and developed warehouse facilities across North America.
Worked extensively in the financial area, representing Saskferco on the sale of the Belle Plaine facility to Yara.
Her deep knowledge of Capital projects includes:
Recent proposals to expand the Belle Plaine urea plant.
Completed plant expansions.
Warehouse developments.
Day-to-day operations.
This knowledge will be a tremendous asset to the Genesis project.
Jason Mann brings extensive experience in operations, project start-ups, and business management at both domestic and international levels.
Plays a pivotal leadership role in the formation and strategic direction of Genesis Fertilizers.
Actively engaged as a member of its Board of Directors.
His background includes leading the development and implementation of complex infrastructure and supply chain projects.
Has particular expertise in the agriculture and crop input sectors.
His depth of knowledge informs the strategic vision and execution of Genesis Fertilizers in:
