Genesis Fertilizers Belle Plaine Project News

Low-Carbon Mandate: The Latest Genesis Fertilizers News on Technology

Genesis is committed to making the Belle Plaine SuperCentre a low-carbon fertilizer leader. Key technology partners and goals include:

  • Engineering: DL E&C (South Korea) and PCL Construction (Canada) are leading the facility design.

  • Carbon Capture: Integrating CARBONCO’s technology to capture up to 1 million metric tonnes of $\text{CO}_2$ annually.

  • Ammonia Production: Utilizing thyssenkrupp Uhde technology for industry-leading efficiency.

This focus ensures the facility supports the growing market for low-carbon grains.

Roadmap to 2029: Key Milestones and Next Steps

The 1.1 million-tonne Belle Plaine SuperCentre is currently in the FEED phase. Genesis Fertilizers is actively seeking government support (provincial and federal) for construction. This strategic, farmer-owned project is vital for national economic sovereignty, aiming to:

  • Reduce reliance on unstable foreign supply chains.

  • Minimize high freight costs.

  • Guarantee a stable, priority supply for farmer-investors.

  • Differentiate the model from traditional fertilizer corporations.
