Renato has a career of 47+ years of experience in the fertilizer (ammonia and urea) and petrochemicals (polypropylene and methanol) industry. He did his Master of Science at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, after which he joined Nova Chemicals in Calgary, and Nexen in Fort McMurray, AB..
He also started and operated ammonia and urea plants in Brunei (BFI), USA (US Methanol), Oman (OMC), Saudi Arabia (Ma’aden), Qatar (QAFCO), and Brazil (Petrobras Fertilizers).
Renato is fascinated by ideas – finding connections within seemingly disparate phenomena. He has a great desire to learn and to continuously improve. He likes to determine how all of the pieces and resources can be arranged for maximum productivity.
Marjory Toidy is a highly experienced Project Services and HR Professional with 40+ years of expertise in Project Management, HR strategy, recruitment, and compensation management. She excels in implementing effective HR strategies, possesses Management of Excellence through People certification, and is skilled in project management. Marjory’s core competencies include HR department startup, policy development, team management, and project oversight.
She has made significant contributions to organizations like Brunei Fertilizer Industries, Wood (Amec Foster Wheeler), Brunei Methanol Company, and SKS Wood for Brunei Shell Petroleum demonstrating strong leadership and versatile skills.
With a degree in Mechanical Engineering and over four decades of experience in the petrochemical industry, Hamilton has built a career that spans three continents and a variety of roles. His expertise covers engineering, erection, commissioning, and maintenance in large-scale projects such as crude oil refineries and pulp mills, giving him a unique perspective on production facility design and development.
Hamilton began his career at a Fertilizer Complex in Brazil before expanding his work internationally to countries including Germany, the United States, Argentina, Colombia, Finland, and Sweden. Over the years, he has specialized in equipment maintenance engineering with Petrobras, taught Project Management courses, and served as a Senior Consultant for petrochemical and oil & gas equipment.
Guided by a strong vision for sustainability, environmental stewardship, and safety, Hamilton fosters teamwork and harmonious working relationships. His leadership approach emphasizes listening and effective communication, ensuring collaborative and results-driven outcomes.
Wilton is a Process Engineer with over 30 years of experience in ammonia and urea plant design and operation, having worked on projects in Canada, Brazil, and Germany. His deep appreciation for Western Canada gives him unique insight into agriculture and the importance of farmers leading the way in developing the next generation of fertilizer production.
He began his career with Petrobras in Brazil, working on ammonia, urea, methanol, and sulphur facilities, and has since led major projects including hydrogen production EPC work at an Alberta refinery and commissioning for pulp facilities. Wilton has also developed conceptual projects in biodiesel, biomethane, green methanol, and waste pyrolysis, combining technical expertise with innovative approaches to sustainable production.
Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Bioenergy, Wilton is passionate about process safety, environmental stewardship, and mentoring the next generation. His leadership style is grounded in listening, effective communication, and collaboration.
With over four decades of experience in the petrochemical, gas, and oil industries, Jerome has built a career that spans continents and a wide range of technical and leadership roles. He began his professional journey in India with a fertilizer company, later taking on engineering, erection, commissioning, and maintenance work in petrochemical facilities across India, Dubai, Syria, Algeria, Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman.
Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Jerome served as Engineering and Maintenance Manager at Oman Methanol Company, where he further developed his expertise in operations and safety. A passionate advocate for process safety, environmental responsibility, community care, and training, he is committed to developing people and fostering innovation.
Jerome is the creator of the “Impala Syndrome,” a unique approach to out-of-the-box thinking that he shares in sessions with college students. He is also a published author of short stories and is known for his flexibility, optimism, active listening, and effective communication.
