A Major Leap Toward Sustainable Fertilizer Production in Western Canada

Genesis Fertilizers Partners with thyssenkrupp Uhde to Power the Future of Agriculture

We are proud to announce a pivotal step in our mission to transform the fertilizer industry in Western Canada. Genesis Fertilizers has officially signed a Process Design Package (PDP) and License agreement with thyssenkrupp Uhde, a world leader in ammonia production technology.

This collaboration marks the foundation for Western Canada’s first low-carbon nitrogen fertilizer production facility—an ambitious project built around sustainability, innovation, and farmer-focused solutions.

Why Ammonia Matters

At the heart of nitrogen fertilizers lies ammonia, the essential compound for sustainable agriculture. thyssenkrupp Uhde’s uhde® ammonia technology combines nitrogen from the air with hydrogen from natural gas to deliver industry-leading efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and consistent nitrogen yields. This technology will be central to our operations and our commitment to producing a reliable and environmentally responsible fertilizer supply for Canadian farmers.

What This Means for Farmers

· Locally produced, stable supply: Reduces dependency on global markets and import volatility.

· More predictable pricing: Enhanced production efficiency helps stabilize costs for farm operations.

· Lower carbon footprint: Supports farmers’ environmental stewardship goals.

“This partnership with thyssenkrupp Uhde is a transformative step forward,” said Jason Mann, CEO of Genesis Fertilizers. “It aligns perfectly with our mission to bring high-quality, locally sourced fertilizer to Western Canadian farmers—efficiently and sustainably.”

We are on track for future development phases and expect commercial operations to begin by 2029. Stay tuned as we continue to share milestones and build momentum toward a more resilient agricultural future.
